Memorial Weekend

I love that my birthday falls on or close to Memorial weekend. It's always a weekend full of friends, family and good times. This year, we invited everyone to our house. I'll let the pictures do the talking but we had an amazing weekend and couldn't have asked for better weather.

My birthday fell on Tuesday and even though the weekend was a good enough birthday for me, we met my mom, brother, Tara, Amber and Aiden at Buffalo Wild Wings to celebrate. My siblings rock and got me a Bobby body pillow so I can get some sleep at night, my mom got me some tank tops that will hopefully fit this summer, and my brother also brought AMAZING cupcakes. Derek took me Monday to get a new phone! They talked me out of an Iphone at Verizon but I have 14 days to decide if they were right or not. Anyone have some pros and cons of the Iphone? Overall, great Memorial weekend and birthday. 

So thankful for all who have and presently serve for our country and also for those loved ones who have passed away.

14 Weeks (5/25/12)

I am looking ROUGH in this picture. I was in a swim suit all weekend so I quickly changed out of my pajamas tonight to do a  pic before the week went by without a pic

How far along? 14 weeks 

Size of baby: 3.5-4 in. and 1 oz. About the size of a lemon 

Weight gain: We bought a scale this week and sometimes it says I am up 3 lbs and sometimes it says what I was at my last doctors appt. So who knows!

Maternity clothes: Still the bellaband with my jeans and I wore a maternity shirt last week but their still a little too loose

Stretch marks: Nope. Rub, rub, rubbin that cocoa butter lotion on twice a day

Sleep: Not so good anymore. The only sleeping on my side is starting to not be so comfortable all.night.long. Going to get a body pillow soon 

Symptoms: Headaches are back. Usually only 1-2 a week but their pretty painful. Been taking tylenol which helps for awhile. 

Best moment this week: People noticing the bump this weekend. I think it really popped out this week

Movement: Nope. I lay in bed every night and hope to feel something but nothing yet 

Food cravings: I have had cotton candy, cotton candy popsicles and cotton candy frozen yogurt all this week. I have always been a cotton candy lover though. Pizza always sounds good too.

Gender: June 29! Derek has been calling it a boy and I am leaning towards a girl. Most people think it's a girl and even refer to it as a she. We shall find out in a month!

What I miss: Summery alcoholic beverages. There is something about summertime and alcohol that go hand in hand.  

Milestones: Officially in 2nd trimester!

13 Weeks (5/18/12)

How far along? 13 weeks

Size of baby: 2.5-3 in and weighs 1/2-3/4 ounce. About the size of a peach

Weight gain: I think 2.5lbs. I weighed myself today at the gym so don’t know how accurate it is with the doctor’s scale

Maternity clothes: Tried a maternity shirt but still too big. Wearing a bellaband with some of my jeans.

Stretch marks: Nope. My stomach has been itchy so I think it’s growing. Been applying cocoa butter lotion like crazy.

Sleep: Good other then waking to go to the bathroom every few hours.

Symptoms: Headaches are back. Usually only 1-2 a week but their pretty painful. Been taking tylenol which helps for awhile.

Best moment this week: Taking the intelligender test even though it just has me more confused now. Pretty set on a girls name but going to wait till we find out what it is to announce. I’m obsessed with it and it’s gotten the approval from Derek AND my sister’s so that’s good.

Movement: I THINK I felt the baby kick last night but it’s pretty early so I think it’s in my head.

Food cravings: Haven’t really been hungry. I have been forcing myself to eat so I don’t starve the baby but nothing ever sounds good. Hardly ate any candy this week!

Gender: June 29! Derek has been calling it a boy and I am clueless. I am thinking 60% boy and 40% girl this week.

What I miss: I could go for an alcoholic beverage

Milestones: This is the last week in 1st trimester!

All Schools Day

Last Thursday night we headed to Galva for the May day parade on Friday. Our nephew Peyton was the kindergarten king so he got to ride on a special float. He was by far the cutest kid in the parade. I underestimated this whole May Day/All Schools Day. We offered to watch the girls so Jaime and Bryon could get Peyton up to the parade early, well when Jaime said she wanted to be at the parade at 6am to get our lawn chairs out for the parade (which wasn't until 10:30), I realized this might be a little bit of a bigger deal then I thought. Derek and I successfully got all the kids ready and had an awesome seat for the parade. Never doubt a small town event!

It was the 99th year and all the schools in Mcpherson county plus some extras that were invited put on huge event. Parade, carnival, optical courses, talent shows, the list goes on and on. We had a great time and hope to go in the future. Hopefully one day, Halle, Hazel and Paizley will be the kindergarten queens... and then again as seniors :)

BOY!! 

The website says that results taken in the lab were 90% accurate but results at home may vary. So we're not going to go out and buy clothes or paint the nursery quite yet but my thoughts of it being a girl have now changed to boy. Either way, I just want this baby to be healthy when we go in on June 29.

Not going to lie though, it looks a little yellow/orange when you turn it around to the girl side. I would say it's more green then yellow/orange though

12 Weeks (5/11/12)

How far along? 12 weeks (12 weeks, 2 days in this pic)

Size of baby: 2.5 in and weighs 1/3-1/2 ounce. About the size of a lime

Weight gain: Not a clue. I need to buy a scale so I can weigh myself other then at my doctors appointments

Maternity clothes: Not yet but clothes are getting snug. I am wearing a bellaband for the first time in this picture.

Stretch marks: Nope. My stomach has been itchy so I think it’s growing. Been applying cocoa butter lotion like crazy.

Sleep: Good other then waking to go to the bathroom every few hours. I'm not as tired as I used to be during the day either.

Symptoms: Feeling awesome!

Best moment this week: My friends seeing me pregnant for the first time today and all the mothers day wishes I have received

Movement: Not yet but I can’t wait

Food cravings: Still candy. Starbursts, any kind of sour candy, sugar, sugar, sugar. We went to a carnival Friday and I might have gotten a funnel cake AND cotton candy. Don't worry, I didn't eat them at the same time. 

Gender: June 29! I feel like it's a girl from the heart rate but I keep dreaming it's a boy so I'm clueless. Taking a gender predictor test tomorrow that's 90% accurate. The suspense is killing me.

What I miss: Absolutely nothing. Waited my whole life to be pregnant so I am loving every minute right now. Check back in a couple months and this is sure to change

Milestones: Almost done with first trimester!

Anniversary date

So our anniversary was Monday, April 30th but when I got back from El Dorado and saw my present sitting on the fireplace, I talked Derek into opening our gifts the Sunday before. I hate surprises and he knew there was no way I was not going to open it while he was at work on Monday. Plus, I was dying to give him the gift I got him. I can't keep secrets so this was another reason we did our gifts on Sunday.

Derek totally surprised me and bought me a new Nikon camera. I jokingly said I wanted it the last time we were at Best Buy and with advice from my sister, he went with that over the ipad or stroller. How cute that he was going to buy the stroller I want, right? I told him I didn't want the baby stealing my presents already though so I am glad he went with the camera. I'm not thrilled with the quality of pictures on it so we are looking into exchanging it. Either way, he did an awesome job and I am SO happy to have a new camera before the baby gets here.

Now for his present. Is it me or is buying for guys ssoo hard? I'm always telling Derek what I want so he has it easy. He on the other hand, only talks about wanting to go to Vegas or the beach. We had already discussed going to Vegas for my sister's 30th but after I found out I was pregnant, Vegas wasn't exactly where I wanted to go. After spending the weekend in El Dorado, my brother in law and sister talked me into going. Another pregnant girl is going so that ultimately made my decision. My brother in law had some Vegas poker chips so I wrapped them up and gave them to Derek for his gift. I didn't want to book it without double checking with him but he of course was over the moon and the trip was booked by Tuesday.

So I say we did pretty good for our first anniversary. We decided to do a nice dinner the following weekend so settled on Papa Murphys for our anniversary. Romantic huh? We made up for it Saturday and went to Bonefish though. It was both of our first times and we thought it was really good. The bang bang shrimp appetizer, AMAZING! I want some of it right now. Derek got a fish Amy suggested and I had lobster. We will definitely be going back. Amy and the kids were in town so we came home after dinner and had a nice evening with the fam. Couldn't have asked for a better anniversary!

11 weeks (5/4/12)

How far along? 11 weeks (technically 11 weeks and 1 day in this pic)

Size of baby: 1.5-2.5 in long

Weight gain: Down .5lb. Although I don’t feel it at all!!

Stretch marks: Nope. My stomach has been itchy so I think it’s growing. Been applying cocoa butter lotion like crazy.

Sleep: Pretty good. I wake up about every 3 hours to pee but other then that, sleeping good.

Symptoms: Feeling awesome!

moment this week: Hearing the heartbeat today (166bp) and scheduling my sonogram to find out what this little bambino is.

Movement: Not yet but I can’t wait

Food cravings: CANDY!!! Derek is convinced I am going to have gestational diabetes but I don’t let myself go overboard on the sugar.

Gender: June 29! I am thinking it’s a girl but this changes quite a bit
