Holiday wear

I am slightly obsessed with holiday attire. Collins was decked out in some kind of orange or black most of October. Here are a few of her Halloween outfits.

The Halloween clothes have been tucked away and the Thanksgiving and Christmas ones are hung in her closet. She's already worn a turkey shirt.

The bow fits a little better this year but I want that tiny baby back!

 Cheers to the holiday season!

Paxton, Halle and Paizley's birthday weekend

You know what November and December mean in this family? LOTS of birthdays. And Christmas. I'm poor just thinking about it all.

Last weekend we went to Galva on Friday to attend our nieces parties. Halle turned 6 and Paizley turned 2. Collins had fun playing at memo and papa's till the party. She saw memo take a baby doll out of this bag and kept looking in the bag for it.

Halle is having a party with her friends but this was their family one. Jaime and Bryon did AWESOME on the homemade cakes. All from scratch. And the girls made out with some pretty cool toys. Collins was quick to steal Paizley's baby doll she got and then took a stroll on Halle's baby doll car.

After their party we headed to El Dorado to celebrate Pax's birthday. His party was Sunday but he opened family gifts Saturday night.

He had his party at a rock climbing place and Collins took 1 look at the kids doing it and then she was bound to try it herself.

Happy birthday kiddos! Love you like crazy!

Sunday funday

Ummm I guess this never posted. This was the Sunday before Halloween...

Holidays are kind of a big deal around here. And having a kid makes me want to make them an even bigger deal. So on Sunday, I invited all the family over to make sugar cookies, eat soup and carve pumpkins.

First off was sugar cookies and caramel apples.

            snack time for the kiddos

Then after dinner we got busy on the pumpkins. Amber and Mike picked way too difficult things to carve so theirs didn't turn out. Guess they should have stuck to the jack o lanterns like me and Derek. Collins and Aiden wanted no part in cleaning out the pumpkins. Fun haters!!

The finished pumpkins. My pumpkin was Collins. Three bottom teeth and a big bow.

More Halloween posts to come! Happy Halloween Eve!

CC's first Halloween

Well it's now November and my baby will be 1 in 20 days. Doesn't seem possible. Last night was her last "first" holiday and it did not disappoint.

Mom, Amber, Mike and Aiden came over after work for some pizza before heading out to trick or treat. Luckily it wasn't real cold out and Collins could get by with just an extra layer under her costume and no coat. We knew she was terrified of Aidens costume from a past experience with it so we had her watch him get dressed in hopes she wouldn't still be scared of it...
FAIL!!!

He even played peek a boo with her to try and get her to warm up to him but she just wasn't digging the costume. And neither did the neighbor kid. She literally screamed and then cried when we sat her down for this pic. And like a good mom, I laughed. So wish we would have videotaped it.

She warmed up to it a little while we were trick or treating. And by that I mean she didn't have a death grip on me when we went up to the houses with him. She loved walking the neighborhood and playing in the candy at uncle Tony and aunt Tara's house.

She LOVED her glow stick from Amber

She got to pass out a few pieces of candy at home before heading off to bed.   Although she didn't get to eat any candy, I think she definitely enjoyed her first Halloween.  And next year? Mommy and daddy are dressing up too.

5 on Friday

1.  It's not even Halloween yet but I can't stop thinking about Christmas. Collins was only 4 weeks old last Christmas so I'm anxious to decorate the house and see what she thinks of the tree and all the lights. She loved the lights as a newborn and I'm sure she'll love them just as much this year.

Wah!! My baby isn't so little anymore :(

2. We are going to make sugar cookies, eat soup and carve pumpkins on Sunday.  My mom, Amber, Mike and Aiden are going to join us. Carving pumpkins always sounds fun but I always pick the hardest thing to carve and it kills my hand.  Think I'll stick to a jack o lantern this year.

3. Mama and baby are going to be matching in our leggings this fall/winter. I ordered these off Groupdealz and I'm anxious to bust out my fleece lined leggings. Collins is sporting some of her leggings today. Their comfy and cute so it's win win in my book.

4.  Operation get Collins to sleep through the night is in progress. The girl sleeps worse then she did when she was 3 months old! Wednesday she woke up at 10:30 and I finally gave in and fed her at midnight. Last night? 9:30!! She didn't even sleep 2 hours before she woke up. Luckily she put herself back to sleep after an hour. And then I fed her at 3:30. Starting tonight, no feeding. I'm scared and tired thinking about it. Kills me to hear her cry because she is usually so so happy.

5.  I got Derek a smoker for his birthday last month and we have been, in the words of my brother in law "smokin shit." We've done ribs, chicken and brisket. We're gonna do beer can chicken tomorrow. For someone who isn't a huge smoked meat fan, everything has been pretty tasty.  It's nice to have a bigger variety of meat to cook

 Happy Friday!!
