13 weeks

How far along: 13 weeks (2/18/14)

Size of baby:  Almost 3 inches long and nearly an ounce

Feeling: Back to having little energy.  I do ok in the mornings but when Collins takes a nap, I usually do too.  I don't know if it's the pregnancy or just this cold weather that has us trapped at home that has me so tired. And I've been forgetting to note that I pee 250 times a day.  Luckily, it's usually only once at night but then I pee what feels like every 10 min.  during the day. Had a couple headaches this week too.  Nothing super painful just lingers all day.

Weight gain: My guess is around 2 lbs.  I'll try and do better about weighing myself.

Gender: My guess is 70% girl. No matter what, I'll need to do some shopping (oh darn) since this baby and Collins are in different seasons.

Cravings: Pickles.  I know, very stereotypical but yum they have been tasting good.

Best moment this week: Felt the baby again! Been trying to decide if we are going to do a gender reveal party or just find out at the appointment.

Movement: Every so often and I really have to concentrate on feeling it.

Maternity clothes: No but I'm at the awkward are you fat or pregnant stage. And I feel huge in my regular clothes.

Milestones: Last week of the 1st trimester.  Fingerprints have formed, veins and organs are visible through it's thin skin and it's body is catching up to the oversized head.

12 weeks

Little late.  I was 12 weeks 2/11/14

How far along: 12 weeks

Size of baby:  Just over 2 inches from head to butt and half an ounce.

Feeling: good, good, good.

Weight gain: I'm guessing around 1-2 lbs. Haven't been good about weighing myself

Gender: Guessing girl

Cravings: Still donuts and I had another dream about an apple. Maybe I should name this baby Apple if it's a girl. I kid!!!

Best moment this week: Feeling the baby kick! I was listening to it's heartbeat and thought I kept hearing it kick and then I felt it! Best feeling in the world. I felt it a couple time and then a couple days later as well.

Movement: Yes!! 2/12/14 was first time.

Maternity clothes: Not yet

Milestones: The most dramatic development this week: reflexes.  The baby's fingers will soon begin to open and close, its mouth will make sucking movements, toes will curl, and eye muscles will clench.  It's eyes have moved from the side of its head to the front (phew) and ears are right where they should be.  Kidneys will begin excreting urine into the baby's bladder.

15 months

Must use big camera next month.

Here we are again, another month older. This month has been one of the harder ones due to lack of communication and her getting upset or whining out of frustration. She's defintely trying hard to talk and I don't think it will be long before she's able to. "Ugh oh" is her newest word.  She got teeth 5 and 6 this month with a few others about to pop through so that might be why she's been upset too.

She is a smart cookie though, she knows where her eyes, nose, ears, mouth, tongue, teeth, belly button, hands, fingers, toes and feet are and quite a few animal sounds. If you ask her where her belly button is, she'll lift up her shirt and show you and then try and lift your shirt up to see yours. You've been warned.  She usually follows directions and is great at cleaning up her toys.

Signing more cause I was bribing her with blueberries

We knew she wasn't going to be a tall girl but she's pretty petite in general. 20lbs 5oz puts her at 13% and 29.5in puts her at 23%.  Mostly wearing 12 and 12-18 month clothes and a size 3 diaper. I just bought a box of size 4 but their pretty big and saggy. Size 4 shoe but we'll be buying 5's for Spring.

Still an awesome eater and could literally eat all day long. She's lucky and just burns off all she eats.  Pb&j sandwiches are a new favorite.  But she doesn't turn much down.

Sleeping 11-12 hours at night (7:30-7:30)and about a 1.5-2 hour nap in the afternoon. She'd probably still take a morning nap if we let her but I prefer 1 long nap instead of 2 cat naps.

We announced big news this month, she's going to be a big sister! They'll be 21 months apart and I'm pretty sure they'll be best friends. She loves babies so I'm hoping she won't mind one moving in with us. She doesn't like me holding other kids or babies so we need to work on that. She isn't sure of strangers this month either. We've never been through this with her so it makes me sad when she won't go to other people she doesn't know very well.  I'm praying it's short lived cause I liked my social little girl. He started going back to church this month and she didn't cry the first time but has these past 2 times. Breaks my heart but they push her around in a stroller and she she eventually warms up to them.

She loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, climbing on things, sweets, slides, helping us cook and watching cooking  shows and dancing. She won't drink her sippy of milk when she wakes up or before bed unless she can watch Mickey. She only watches about 10 min. before she loses interest but she gives a huge smile when it first comes on.

We love you munchkin, so so much.

Collins' Valentines

Collins has a valentines play date tomorrow so we decided to make her friends some goodie bags.

First, she painted paper that we later cut out into hearts

I glued them onto heart shaped construction paper and then used double sided tape to tape them onto the goodie bags.

The bags are from Hobby Lobby and are filled with cupcake goldfish, valentine peanut butter m&ms and marshmallows. She's lucky her friends got any, she wouldn't stop eating it while I filled the bags.

There you have it! Her first (and super easy) Valentine's!

11 Weeks (2/4/14)

Gah! It needs to be summer so I can get a tan!

How far along: 11 weeks

Size of baby:  1.5 inches long (about the size of a fig or lime) and .25 ounces.

Feeling: Finally getting some energy back.  Not having to nap every day and when I do, it's only about a 10 min cat nap.  So happy to be getting some energy back, lord knows I need it chasing Collins all day!

Weight gain: .5 pound.  Roughly.  Depends what part of the day I weight myself.  I don't trust our scale at all though so I'll get a better estimate the end of the month.

Gender: Now I'm thinking girl.  March 28 can't come soon enough.

Cravings: A donut!!  I caved and me and Collins shared one at the store today.  She didn't complain!

Best moment this week: Talking names with Derek (and of course my sisters).  We have 2 girl names we really like and 0 boy names. We just can't agree on boy names, same thing happened when I was pregnant with Collins.

Movement: Nope

Maternity clothes: Nope

Milestones: The baby is almost fully formed! Some of the bones are beginning to harden and he or she is busy kicking and stretching (I want to feel them!!!). It may also be having the hiccups now that it's diaphragm is forming.

Snow, snow, go away!!

We are 10 inches deep in snow and got even more flurries today! They kept warning us that we were going to get a lot of snow last week and they did not lie!  Derek left Monday for work and the snow was expected Tuesday morning so I convinced my mom, Amber and Aiden to stay Monday night in hopes of a snow day. Amber was a single mom for the week as well so they were all in!

It started early Tueaday and snowed all day long. Amber works about 10 min. out of town so she called in and we all ate our weight in food, took the kids out in the snow and stayed warm inside.   It was pretty cold out so we only lasted about 10 min. outside but we had fun sledding and spraying the snow with paint.

They stayed Tuesday night as well and even though their cars were snowed in, Amber had to go into work. So wonderful nana Jana shoveled half the driveway so we could back her car out so I could take her to work in my 4 wheel drive car.   Aiden stayed with me and my mom and Collins that day and we had another relaxing day. Collins loves Aiden sssooo much and he is the best with her. Me and her were sad they all went home Wednesday night.

Mark to the rescue with his snow blower

10 weeks (1/28/14)

 How far along: 10 weeks

Size of baby:  Barely the size of a kumquat (whatever that is).  A little over an inch from head to bottom and less than a quarter of an ounce.

Feeling: Great! Not a lot of energy and a nap is mandatory every day but for the most part, I forget I'm pregnant! Hopefully this pregnancy will go fast since Collins keeps my mind off of it.

Weight gain: 0 pounds.  They say you show earlier the second time around and I definitely agree.  There is for sure a belly, especially after I eat.

Gender: My gut says boy but I really have no clue.  We find out March 28!!!

Cravings: Fruit.  I woke up the other morning at 4:30am and wanted an apple so bad.  We didn't have any or I probably would have went and ate one.  With Collins, meat grossed me out but it hasn't bothered me this time around so part of me thinks boy?

Best moment this week: Hearing the heartbeat (160). I'm borrowing my friends heart Doppler and was pretty sure I had found it numerous times but I always got 125. Doc didn't think that was my heartbeat so who knows what I was hearing.  Ashley said the screen isn't always right so I am guessing I found it but it wasn't reading it right.

Movement: Not yet! Miss that feeling so much so can't wait.

Maternity clothes: No but I'm sure it won't be too at this rate. The purple shirt in the pic is maternity but I plan on taking all my weekly pictures in this shirt so had to get something that would fit the whole pregnancy.

Milestones: The baby has completed the most critical portion of development.  It has tiny nails forming on the fingers and toes, and peach fuzz hair beginning to grow on tender skin.  Its swallowing and kicking and the kidneys. intestines, brain and liver are all in place and starting to function.
Big sis had to be included

Finding out and early appts

Thank you all SO much for your kind words. Yes, this was a planned pregnancy and yes, we might be a little crazy but we are so excited. And we think Collins is going to be the best big sister. They will be 21 months apart.

Here's a little pregnancy catch up...

Dec 17- Derek was out of town and said he had a dream I was pregnant. He never dreamed about me being pregnant the last time around so this was weird. I kind of had a feeling but was going to wait till later in the week when I was supposed to start my period.  After he told me that though, I took a cheap pregnancy test I already had. It was a faint line but definitely a line. That night I went and bought another test

Dec 18-  Took pregnancy test that morning. First one didn't work and second one had positive sign almost immediately.
Line isn't as dark cause I forgot to take a pic until a week after I took the test

Dec 19- Derek was coming home so surprised him with the news by having Collins wear a big sister shirt. His reaction was priceless. I know it doesn't seem like it based on his reaction, but he really is ecstatic for #2. Warning- there is a cuss word so ear muffs if kids are around

We told our families over Christmas. Of course everyone is ssoo excited.

Dec 31- I heard of a free sonogram place so we checked it out. I had been feeling great and was aching to see the baby. We had been going to a fertility doctor with Collins so we had gotten 2 sonograms by 8 weeks. I was only 6 weeks so there wasn't much to see but we did see a beating heart! They estimated our due date to be Aug 26-28.

Jan 10- first ob appt. 7w and 3d so it was too early for her to pick up heartbeat on Doppler (she didn't even try).  Blood tests done and flu shot, nothing good. She confirmed Aug 26 as our due date.

Jan 31- 10 weeks, 3 days we met with ob again and she picked the heartbeat up right away. It was beating away at 160bpm.  All tests came back normal and we scheduled next appointment and gender appointment :) We also publicly announced our pregnancy.

Weekly pregnancy posts to come!
