4 Months

4 months is 2 months away from 6 months which is half way to 1 year. Say wwhhhaaatttt?! Good thing I'm already planning her 1st birthday :)

She is such a happy baby. She'll smile at anyone and loves when people talk to her. She'll act like she is shy and look away and then slowly turn her head back around to look at the person. It's adorable. She definitely knows who mommy and daddy are and will watch us until we are out of sight. If she hears us talking, she will look all around the room until she spots us.

At 4 months, Collins can roll from stomach to back and especially loves to do this trick when she wakes up and when we lay her in her crib to go to sleep. And when I say lay her in her crib to go to sleep, I mean awake. Yep, this started yesterday and has been going great. I'm too scared to jinx myself so I'm going to wait a week before I post more on this topic. Speaking of sleep, she is napping around 9:30am, 1pm and 5pm.  She will only sleep pn her tummy and I hate it. Darn SIDS scares the crap out of me. Night time sleep has been pretty rough the past 3 weeks. Some nights she will sleep 13 hours and only wake once to eat and other nights she wakes up 20 min after we lay her down and then continues waking up all.night.long. This is what started the sleep training. That got old real fast. Especially because she would squirm and act like she didn't want us to rock her either. Not something I expected to happen already. It's been 1 day and I already miss rocking my baby.

She is feisty.  She likes to arch her back and try to fling herself from your arms and likes to practice rolling over while sitting in her bouncy seat, bumbo and swing.  She loves her new jumperoo and playing on the floor but both of these only last about 5 minutes. She likes being held the best. Her other new trick? Whining. I need to catch this on video because her facial expressions while she does this is hilarious. It's hard to take her seriously when she does it. She also growls, talks, smiles and laughs.

We haven't started cereal yet but we got the ok from the doctor today so I think the Easter bunny will be bringing some eating utensils and things. She is very interested in food and tries to grab our food and cup so I think she is going to love it. Nursing is still going great and we are back to giving her a bottle at night as her last feeding. She drinks 4oz before bed.

Collins, you make me smile from the moment you wake up until the minute you go to bed. I never thought I would be a morning person but your little face lights up when you see me peek over your crib and suddenly all my sleepiness goes away. I could kiss and squeeze you all day and I can't ever tell you enough how much I love you. Your mommies little baby and you'll be just that forever.
These pictures are getting hard to take already so I'm going to start including some outtakes.
Bottom row, 2nd from left, cracks me up every time. That smile is contagious.

It was good while it lasted

I was hoping it wouldn't happen but it looks like our good sleeper left us. Guess she was just teasing me when she was sleeping through the night because the past 4 nights have been rough. Luckily it's nothing a little rocking or binky can't handle but since she's in her own room now, we actually have to go farther then 2 feet to soothe her. Naps suck too. Sorry little girl but 30 min naps are not OK by me. I'm going to blame this downfall on one of these things. 1. teeth 2. stupid daylight savings 3. growth spurt

Since she doesn't usually eat when she wakes up, I think the verdict is...

#1 teeth. Cause there's been a whole lotta hand sucking going on.

She went to sleep at 8 last night and by 11:30, this was going on. We couldn't help but laugh. She's lucky she's cute

Good thing she talked herself back to sleep!

Getting Into The Groove

I survived my first week at the gym. I think I can actually say I enjoyed it too! Something about getting out of the house and not being on mom duty for an hour is quite nice.

My mom and I attended 2 classes and I did 1 cardio day where I completed day 2 of my c25k.  We did the butts and guts class on Monday and not kidding, we had the hardest time walking down the gym stairs when it was over. Probably not the smartest class to do after not working out for a year. We were hanging on for dear life to the railings all while trying not to pee ourselves from laughing so hard. Needless to say, we were sore for days and didn't go to another class till Thursday. We thought yoga would be good for our sore muscles. wrong. This body doesn't stretch like it used to and all those moves that are supposed to feel good, were a complete struggle for us. The teacher had to correct my down dog. That's like a yoga move a 2 year old could do.

I finished the week with cardio on Saturday. I wanted to go do cardio yesterday but with church and cleaning, I never made it there. I know, pulling out the excuses already. I'm happy that I made it there 3 days and I'm going to try a little harder to do more then 3 workouts this week.

Mama needs to get in shape!

I canceled my gym membership when I was pregnant because let's face it, this girl HATES working out. I tried watching what I ate while I was pregnant so I didn't gain a ton of weight but going to work out was 1 thing I could not get myself to go do.

Well, it's been 3 months since I had Collins and I decided it was time to join a gym again. I'm down 8lbs from my pre pregnancy weight but my butt, tummy and every inch of my body jiggles. I hate spending an arm and a leg for a gym membership but I can't get myself off the couch to workout at home. So we found an awesome gym with a great price and signed our (Derek and me) booties up. Now I need to set up some personal goals so I have a reason to get myself to go.

1. Workout a minimum of 3 days. Yes, I am going to shoot for 4-5 but I gotta take baby steps or I'll just stop going all together. Collins can't go to the childcare they offer till she is 6 months so Derek and I are going to have to go at different times. He plans on going in the mornings and since Collins still wakes up once a night, I'm going to "sleep in" and go in the evenings.

2. Finish the C25K. I went 1 day last week and started this program. The first day was a breeze and I was actually embarrassed to keep running and then walking after 60 sec. But I know it's going to get harder and I'm not positive I'll be able to do it, but I am going to try!

3. Go to 1 class a week. I am most excited that this gym offers classes. Yoga, zumba, cycling, etc. I'm dragging my mom to butts and guts tonight and I can't wait. We're probably going to look like idiots and pass out within 10 min. but we are going to do it and that's what counts!

4. Get toned!!! I'm not trying to lose any weight since I am nursing and I need to make sure I'm eating enough for the 2 of us. I am pretty sure I have 100% body fat so I would like to work on getting this mom butt and tummy back to what they used to be.

So now that this is in writing and for the world to see, I better stick to my goals and report back to you guys that I accomplished them. I'm going to start my friends "Move it Monday"  and report back every Monday on my progress. Stay tuned!
