Sonogram says...

A healthy little GIRL!!! I will post sonogram pics when we get back from Manhattan but I wanted to get the news out for anyone who might not know.  The sonogram was AMAZING. I could have watched our little girl all day. I thought I saw boy parts right away but the technician zoomed in and pointed to the 3 lines and said "nope, definitely a girl!" And then the tears started coming. I was going to be thrilled either way but I have been dying to dress a little girl. She was moving her arms, legs and we even saw her moving her mouth which the technician said she was swallowing. All the body parts and organs looked great and she was measuring 19weeks and 2 days (I was exactly 19 weeks) so not a big enough difference to change due date. Baby GIRL Lorson will be here around Novembe 23. She does have a name but I am waiting a little longer to annouce. I want to order something to announce it :) I might have already ordered her some hair bows and am going to the mall here shortly. Bring on the pink and bows!!!! We can't wait to meet our baby girl!

What's Baby L Going To Be...

2 more days till we hopefully find out what baby Lorson is. We will be thrilled no matter what, we just want a healthy baby that we prayed so long for. The anticipation has been killing me though so I have been looking online at some of the gender wive tales to try and guess what baby L is. Here are some of the things I have found:

Intelligender test: You can read my results here but it said BOY but had a hint of GIRL
Pencil test: GIRL
Chinese calendar: BOY
My instinct: GIRL
My dreams: BOY
Craving sweets: GIRL
Heart Beat: GIRL
No breakouts: BOY

So there are a couple tests I have found. I am still completely clueless so I guess I will just have to wait till Friday. That is, if the little one cooperates. You better believe I won't be leaving that office till I know what this baby is! :)

I had a gender poll going but it messed up the blog so if you want to leave a comment with you guess, I would really appreciate it! I'll be back Friday evening with BIG news!!

18 Weeks (6/22/12)

How far along? 18 weeks

Size of baby: 5 to 5.8 inches from crown to rump and 5.3 ounces. About the size of a bell pepper.

Weight gain: I'd say around 7lbs

Maternity clothes: Mostly wearing comfy clothes and dresses. When I wear jeans, I wear a bellaband with my regular jeans or maternity jeans Wearing some maternity shirts and a tankini to the pool!

Stretch marks: Nope

Sleep: Just the usual waking up twice a night to go to the bathroom. It's quite the process to switch what side I sleep on cause I have to move the whole body pillow as well. I just to not switch sides too much for that reason.

Symptoms: I had a headache once this week but nothing too bad.

Best moment this week: Feeling the baby kick and going to Buy Buy Baby to look at car seats, strollers, etc.

Movement: Yes! Still pretty light so I have to concentrate on feeling them. I like to push on my belly and bug the baby to get it to kick :)

Food cravings: Bagel with whipped cream cheese, fruit and desserts. Meat has been sounding awful!

Gender: FRIDAY!!! So ready to get this week started so it can be Friday already. Wish our appointment was before 3:30 in the afternoon!

What I miss: Sleeping on my back and stomach.

17 Weeks (6/15/12)

How far along? 17 weeks

Size of baby: 4.5-5 in from crown to rump and 3.5 ounces. About the size of an onion

Weight gain: Our scale says 3.5 but I was up 3 at the doctor 2 weeks ago so I would say more around 5-7lbs

Maternity clothes: I wear mostly comfy clothes and dresses but when I wear shirts, they are maternity and I can wear my jeans with the bellaband but maternity jeans are WAY more comfy

Stretch marks: Nope. This stomach is getting huge though!

Sleep:Very good. I fall asleep as soon as my head hits my boppy pillow and I only wake when I need to pee. I couldn't fall back asleep the other morning at 5am because I started stressing out about maternity leave and what I am going to do with the daycare.

Symptoms: Couple headaches this week but they have gone away after I take tylenol

Best moment this week: Feeling the baby kick!! I noticed it the first time when we were at the pool in Vegas and I have felt it everyday since. It gave a big kick when Derek was listening to it on Father's day.

Movement: Finally feeling it kick!! It's light enough that I only notice it when I am sitting still and concentrating on it though.

Food cravings: Bagels and cream cheese! I have had it for breakfast and lunch the past 2 days. And not just regular cream cheese, fluffy or whipped cream cheese. Meats have been sounding awful so I have been living on breakfast foods, fruits and desserts.

Gender: A week from Friday!!! Derek still says boy and I really have no clue. I kind of think its a girl but it's always a boy in my dreams.

What I miss: Not gonna lie, it was tough being in Vegas and not drinking. I was going to get a virgin strawberry daiquiri but my theory was, if people at the pool see me drinking that, they won't think I am pregnant and will just think i'm fat, if they see me drinking water, surely they will know it's a baby bump and not a beer belly. Yep, those are the thoughts that went through my head.

Milestones: Finally feeling the baby kick!

Viva Las Vegas!

Don't you just start singing that song every time you say Las Vegas? Just me? mmk. Well Vegas is exactly where we went this past weekend. We worked a full day Thursday and got to Vegas around 9:30 pm. We had an hour delay on the plane because of weather so we got in later then planned. Yeah I was going a little stir crazy after sitting in the plane for 4 hours. But we made it, freshened up and met my Amy and Josh and the other couple that were already there down at the casino. We found a blackjack table to ourselves so us girls played as well. I hate playing with people I don't know cause I don't know all the rules and some people get mad. Plus I can't count my cards very fast so I pretty much just go on a whim saying go or stay. I made it till 1am that night (3am in KS) and Derek and the boys didn't make it in till 5am (7am KS time)!!

I didn't do so well taking pictures that night. Plus, I took my old camera which takes horrible pictures.

Since someone got in late, I went downstairs fairly early Saturday and had a bagel by myself. I told him when he came in at 5am I wasn't going to let him sleep all morning so I woke him up when I got back. Sorry, not spending our trip in the hotel room! We all headed to the pool around 11 and stayed there till 5. It was HOT so we spent the majority of the time in the pool. Me drinking lots of waters, the others having some fun alcoholic beverage. The other 2 couples made it in that afternoon so we all went to a steak place for dinner and to celebrate Amy's 30th (which isn't till the 22nd. She is having a birthday MONTH). Funny story, we go to this nice steak place and everyone orders steaks, seafood etc. Not this girl. I had some amazing 5 cheese macaroni and onion rings. If I cant drink my calories, I'm going to eat them! We headed back to the casino after dinner and gambled some more. We were all standing around the boy's blackjack table which was in front of a stage and out of NOWHERE, a Michael Jackson look a like comes out and puts a microphone on the stage. Amy is slightly obsessed with Michael so she about passed out with excitement. I gotta give it to him though, he looked just like Michael, sounded just like him (on the songs he didn't lip sync) and knew every dance move and outfit. He was awesome. I drug Derek to bed with me at almost 2am and the others stayed out till 5 am. Crazy people.

Drinking coffee on her birthday night. LOSER!

Everyone was slow getting out of bed that morning so Derek and I went down for breakfast while we waited for them to get up. Josh wasn't feeling too good after staying up till 5am  both nights so Derek, Amy and me walked the strip while he slept. It was HOT so we made it to the water show at Bellagio and got a taxi back to New York New York. Josh was up by then so we headed to the pool but only for a couple hours before everyone was ready for naps. Derek and I passed on the nap and went and gambled instead. Derek sticks to blackjack and tried craps for the first time this weekend, I occasionally do blackjack but prefer roulette or I kicked butt at Texas holdem on a computer. We went to Mexican that night with Amy and Josh, watched the fountains at Bellagio again since it was dark this time, gambled and were in bed by 11:30 so we could catch our 7:45am flight.

Here's a day and night video in case you haven't seen the fountains. Sssooo amazing

I wasn't sure how much fun I would have in Vegas being pregnant but we both had a really good time. Amy and Josh, thank you for inviting us on your trip. We had so much fun with you guys.

16 Weeks (6/8/12)

007
Phew! Barely got this one done before I turn 17 weeks tomorrow!
How far along? 16 weeks
Size of baby: 4.3-4.7 inches and 2.75 ounces. About the size of an avocado. I'd like to clarify that on the length of the baby, they measure from head to butt and don't include the legs. I think they start measuring with legs next week.
Weight gain: I'd say around 5 lbss. I feel like I have gained 20!
Maternity clothes: Still the bellaband with my jeans and occasionally a maternity shirt. I wore maternity jeans last night because my only pair of jeans that fit were getting washed. Let me tell you how comfy maternity jeans are. I am going to try and avoid them a little bit longer but man I was comfortable getting my hair done.
Stretch marks: Nope. Praise the lord. I'm sure their bound to happen though.
Sleep: Ahhh I love my boppy pillow. I don't know how I am going to survive this weekend in Vegas without it. I also wake up at 11 something and 3 something to pee every.single.night. I think my body is preparing me extra early for the baby.
Symptoms: Felt really great this week! No headaches and no cramping
Best moment this week: Wearing a tankini...not!!! Going to the lake with my family and thinking about how next year we will get to bring the baby!
Movement: Nope. They say any day now.
Food cravings: Cheeto puffs!!! I'm usually just a cheetos girl but this week I have been tearing up the puffs. I gotta stop buying them cause it's sickening how fast I can eat a bag.
Gender: 2 weeks from tomorrow!!!! We are both thinking boy but we shall soon find out. I'm just ready to buy this bambino some clothes!
What I miss: Sleeping on my back. I keep waking up on my back and quickly turning back to my side so I don't deprive the baby of oxygen! I tried putting a pillow behind me so I don't roll over but it doesn't help.
Milestones: Getting closer to the half way mark!

5th Annual Long Family Vacay

Every summer we head to Milford lake with my dads side of the family. This past weekend was the 5th year we have went and we hope to continue this for many more years. Since our family keeps growing, we had to rent 2 of the big cabins this year. These cabins are the luxury of all cabins. Huge kitchens, 2 living areas, 5+ bedrooms, 2+ baths, flat screens, cable TV, AWESOMENESS! We say we are going camping but this is the farthest thing from camping. Check out the website for more pictures of the cabins.

We got there early evening Friday and hung out on the patio of the "kids cabin" while dinner was on the grill. We had a pretty late dinner and then tucked the kids in bed and hung out on the patio some more. I finally called it a night around 11 and figured the others would be coming to bed shortly behind me. I continued to wake up every hour wondering when the fools were coming to bed. I finally had to download a white noise app to cover up their loudness. At 3:30, I finally went downstairs and told them to get their butts in bed. My how things have changed :)

 Your welcome Amy :)

I was up at 7am to get ready for our 8am pontoon rental. I of course was the first one up and after peeking in my sisters room, saw Aiden was awake but being captive by his sleepy parents. I signaled him to come out with me and we hung out till 8 when we woke the house up. They weren't thrilled to be waking up after 4 hours of sleep but this momma hen was ready to get on the pontoon! After a quick breakfast, we finally made it to the pontoon...an hour late! The lake was pretty rough so we ended up finding a nice beach and just chilling there. We took the boat out for a little and let the kids take turns driving it. The pontoon had to be back by noon so we drove it in (after almost sinking in waves), had lunch and the majority of us took a nap with the kids. Then it was time for the beach again where we stayed until dinner time.

We had another yummy dinner that night followed by smores and a game of Minute To Win It. Everyone called it an early night that night and got some much needed sleep. We slept in, ate breakfast and had to start packing up cars and cleaning the cabins. We had such a fun weekend and made so many fun memories. There were countless times I was trying to catch my breath from laughing so hard. We can't wait to take the little bambino next year!

My sister is special. Love how Elsie is looking at her like what the f?!

This sure is going to look different next year
